The programme was selected as a promising practice because BGHMC stands out as an example of how to address gender inequalities and improve cultural competence. Based on in-depth analyses of interviews and published materials, it examines the contextual factors that gave rise to the institutionalisation of gender integration in BGHMC, the enabling factors and challenges encountered, outcomes achieved, and lessons learned, including those that might be transferable to other contexts.
