The main objectives of the study are: (1) Identify environmentally and socially sound potential local, regional and international buyers for those DMF dismantling fractions that are produced in higher quantities, i.e. steel, aluminum, copper, and printed wiring boards (PWB) and plastics; (2) Analyze the purchasing conditions and business models of potential buyers and their branches and elaborate recommendations how the DMF can optimize its dismantling and sales procedures for the market requirements thereby enabling effective and efficient material sales at best prices; (3) Investigate the administrative procedures the DMF as a government-owned entity has to follow when selling dismantling fractions to local, regional and international markets; (4) Give recommendations concerning the legal status and organization of the DMF to incentivize effective and efficient treatment of e-waste in Ethiopia.
