This study gleans and comparatively illustrates the most widely used eGovernment assessment frameworks. Most of them provide very relevant results for the maturity level of eGovernment focusing either in user demand side or supply demand side. These types of approaches provide useful information from a user-perspective or a supply-perspective, but do not provide any information regarding the back-end integration of eGovernment. This review study identifies the current prevailing eGovernment assessment criteria and indicators and highlights the necessity of enhancing those approaches with appropriate back office integration assessment indicators.
