Abstract This report aims to broaden knowledge of good practices and policies that can contribute to good governance of human mobility at a local level in the face of the challenges posed by the links between urban expansion and migration. It analyses new forms of organisation of informal migrant workers and the use of social networks as mechanisms to access rights by using the case of the Sindicato Popular de Vendedores Ambulantes de Barcelona (Popular Union of Street Vendors of Barcelona).
