Attitudes toward nature and traveling were considered as the determinants of the intentions to visit the regional resources such as nature environment and the geothermal plant. The online-questionnaire survey was conducted for Tokyo residents and 29,616 responses were gained. The intention to visit Hachijo shown by males was signicantly higher and increased with ages above 50s. The higher influences from intentions to visit nature environment and hot springs on the intention to visit Hachijo were observed. Besides, the intention to visit other islands also showed higher influence on the intention. Among the attitudes toward nature, three factors were extracted, such as bringing threat, bringing relaxation, and domination by humans. Among traveling attitudes, four factors were extracted, such as health restoration, cross-cultural experiences, personal growth, and unexpectedness. These factor scores were largely different in different gender and age groups. Among these factors, attitudes such as nature bringing threat and nature bringing relaxation were involved in the model, but those influences on the visiting intention were not large. On the other hand, the influences of traveling factors such as health restoration and cross-cultural experiences were much larger. Keyword Sightseeing motives
