The narratives presented in this policy brief also reflect gaps and needs in the existing Arctic environmental governance mechanisms, providing an overview of the existing modalities but demonstrating their limited or fragmented operational scope. We also examine how the global agreements, institutions, and policies on environmental governance in this region provide a platform for global, regional, national, and inter-agency cooperation processes and policies.
