It emphasizes the need to consider gender differences in education, employment, income, and household relations when designing strategies and disaster risk financing initiatives to improve the financial preparedness against climate shocks in Fiji. Additionally, the report explores variations in financial instrument usage, gender-differentiated post-disaster coping mechanisms and demonstrates the correlation between extreme weather events and gender-based violence.
