Abstract In 2010, around 7.5 kg per inhabitant of WEEE is reported on a national level as being collected and treated by Wecycle and ICT~Milieu, the two main organisations that implement WEEE producer responsibility in the Netherlands. This is 28% compared to the new WEEE recast level that targets at 65% collection of three previous years of EEE sales. It is known that there are substantial complementary recycling streams. Therefore the aim of this research is to provide a factual basis for the upcoming WEEE recast collection target definition in the Netherlands and to provide a more detailed and complete quantitative assessment of the WEEE flows.
