Without a document, a person may be denied rights and access to services. Documents permeate our daily lives and even minor improvements in document management may have a huge impact on society. This white paper proposes the concept of the uDOC and describes its main features. UDOC is a document management service that allows users to access their documents anytime, anywhere, using a single interface, regardless of the issuer of the document. uDOC is based on the concept of substrate-independent documents and the ability to access certified documents without the need of any physical token or key.
