Abstract The importance of GIAHS-themed education in primary and secondary schools to pass down the traditional knowledge to the next generation and to preserve the culture in the regions has been pointed out by GIAHS experts during the process of making the Noto GIAHS action plan. In response, the Noto Regional GIAHS Promotion Council and the United Nations University IAS-OUIK, together with local experts, created this educational children’s book “Let’s Make a Harvest Feast” to convey the value of GIAHS to elementary school children in 2018. In 2020, the English version has been published to be used not only in English classes but also to connect with an international audience. Please feel free to make copies of pages of this book for educational purposes, such as school lessons. We hope that you will use it as an opportunity to deepen your understanding of Noto's agriculture, living creatures, and culture as well as opening a conversation about similar traditional elements in your local area.
