Because global governance is the defining feature of our age, and because its cultural dimension will, with the passage of time, prove to be the defining influence upon it. For if our grandchildren are to have lives worthy of the human dignity inherited from generations past, we shall need to attain an ‘optimal cultural dimension’ in our emerging global governance that will uplift their own generation and those beyond.
